This study employed qualitative methods to document the raced, classed, and gendered schooling of Black middle-class males. Drawing upon critical race theory and social and cultural capital theories, I present the narratives of Black males and their parents, emphasizing the various racial microaggressions encountered in a secondary school. Additionally, the parental involvement practices of Black middle-class families are presented, highlighting the various forms of social and cultural capital used to contest the negative outcomes of racial microaggressions.
