Scholars and policymakers have in recent years demonstrated an increasingly strong interest in the role and effects of collaborative school leadership in connection with the implementation of strategies to improve schools educational processes in ways that can lead to improved student outcomes. This study examines changes in key school quality indicators resulting from the implementation of a state policy aimed at increasing the distribution of leadership and the academic capacity of K-12 schools in ways that would result in improved student learning. These types of indicators are important to monitor because they provide insights into changes in schools’ governance, educational practices, and work environment that can directly influence student learning.
