The Relationships among Course and Instructor Evaluations and an External Student Satisfaction Inventory

Abstract

Higher education institutions commonly use survey instruments to evaluate the student experience. This study examines the relationship between the various demographic characteristics of a student sample and data obtained on both the Noel Levitz Student Satisfaction Inventory and locally produced instruments used as course evaluation and instructor evaluation tools. Results will include discussions of the representativeness of sampling and the implications for both generalizing current results and for constructing future samples.
