ABSTRACT
This multi-case study investigated the transfer advising model utilized by nine participants who had been assigned the responsibility of advising transfer students in the state of Alabama. The study fused the results of investigations from community college transfer studies with the results from academic advising studies. The study was governed by The influence theory: Factors which influence the transfer advising process. The outcome of the study was the delineation of a new academic advising model known as the Holistic Student Based Transfer Advising Model.
