The purpose of this study was to better understand the affordances and constraints of using iPads with elementary students (n=50) who are utilizing this technology while reading and responding to text. The goal was to observe how these students utilize iPad applications to facilitate reading comprehension. Results indicate that the ability to easily revise responses and create the design of text responses may be advantageous to students. Data sources will include observations, interviews, teacher journals and student artifacts.
