Exploring the College Readiness of American Indians

Sun, April 15, 10:35am to 12:05pm, Vancouver Convention Centre, Floor: First Level, East Ballroom B

Abstract

Polarizing rhetoric on education is commonplace in today’s tumultuous political environment. In an era keen to criticism, high school graduation rates, college entrance rates, and college completion rates are highlighted as evidence of the failure of American education. These criticisms beg the question, “Are our students college ready?” This session will explore the intersection of college readiness, the achievement gap, and culture.
