Abstract

Desktop documentary making (DDM) has gained traction among history teachers across the country. It is important to examine the philosophies and practices of teachers who are experienced with integrating DDM so as to better inform current and future teachers who plan to integrate DDM into their instructional repertoire. With that said, this study sheds much needed light on issues related to teachers’ integration of DDM by qualitatively comparing and contrasting the cases of two secondary history teachers, who are amply experienced with integrating DDM into their instruction, with regard to their instructional philosophies and practices as they each integrated DDM into their own particular and secondary history classroom.
