Abstract

This paper demonstrates how evaluation findings of a national school support pilot program in public middle and high schools in Chicago were explained and used by program staff. The collaborative process between the evaluation team and program staff of developing the evaluation questions, conducting observations and interviews on site visits, reporting evaluation findings, and incorporating evaluation findings into practice will be discussed by the evaluation team and the program staff through a utilization-focused evaluation framework. Program staff provided insight on perceptions of quality evaluation, evaluation intent and use, and the sustainability of research and evaluation in their program’s practice.
