The purpose of this ongoing project is to investigate the use of design-based methods to iteratively improve teaching and learning across an entire, fully-online, graduate program in teacher leadership. The project is grounded in the Quality Matters (QM) and Community of Inquiry (CoI) frameworks, which are used to guide course and program improvements, and therefore it also explores their efficacy. Preliminary results from one course suggest that, taken together across multiple revisions, the QM and CoI frameworks can be used to guide course design and implementation changes leading to improved learning outcomes. Findings from the other core courses will, we expect, confirm the efficacy of this approach.
