Enhancing Cross-Cultural and Global Perspectives Among Educational Leaders

Abstract

This proposal investigates the first two China experiences offered by an Executive Ed.D. in Professional Leadership program that began summer of 2010. This overseas experience intended to prepare school administrators for the knowledge, skills, and dispositions required by today’s cross-cultural and globally interdependent world. This research is part of the longitudinal study that aims to examine how such an overseas experience can impact its participants in terms of their global and cross-cultural perspectives, and what can be done to render this undertaking more productive. The research involves a variety of strategies but for this paper data will focus on analysis from journals, interviews, online discussion, a questionnaire, and course projects.
