Ethical Leadership Indicators Development for School Principals in Thailand

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to develop ethical leadership indicators for school principals in Thailand and examine the goodness of fit of the structural relationship model consistency of confirmatory factor analysis with the empirical data. The multi-staged random sampling method was applied. The research sample consisted of 381 school principals. The data collection tool was an interview form and a Likert rating scale questionnaire. The research found that ethical leadership was composed of five major factors, 19 sub-factors and 69 indicators. Major factors ranking in order from highest to lowest were responsibility, fairness, trust, ethical personhood and empowerment, including 13 indicators relating to responsibility, 11 indicators to fairness, 17 to trust, 15 to ethical personhood, and 13 to empowerment.
