Educational Technology in Latin American: A Survey Study in Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica, and Mexico

Abstract

The Education Development Center and Fundación Evolución (Argentina) developed a survey to collect baseline data on the use of ICT in teaching for developing countries and piloted the survey in Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica and Mexico. The survey collected standardized and comparable data on middle school teachers each country. By far the most commonly used tool are word processing, presentation software and Internet research. The findings also raise interesting questions about how national policies promote technology integration.
