This collaborative self-study considers the impact of taking a listening stance in the collegial relationships and practices of three early career teacher educators within a small, private liberal arts institution. We consider the consequences of our efforts on students’ experiences of our practices and the education program. Data sources include our journaling and in-class observations, samples of student work, feedback gathered from students on semi-structured questionnaires and through focus group discussions, and regular conversations among colleagues. The listening stance modeled in our practice with preservice teachers underscores that knowledge is co-constructed and acknowledges that students’ unique histories and voices must be honored through the enactment of our practice.
