The purpose of this research study was to conduct a quantitative analysis using primary data collected from Questionnaires for Teachers and Parents in Elementary and Middle Grades(Epstein & Salinas, 1993) to examine the relationship of parental and teacher perceptions of parental involvement in academic (reading at home with students and assisting with homework)and non-academic activities (parent-teacher conferences and opportunities to volunteer inside of
the school) that support students in a high poverty urban elementary school.
