Fri, April 13, 2:15 to 3:45pm, Vancouver Convention Centre, Floor: Second Level, West Room 221

Abstract

This proposal reports a qualitative multiple case study aimed at examining four
content area teachers use of multiliteracies and indicators of creativity in their secondary classrooms. Findings reveal indicators of creativity and multiliteracies across these classrooms. This is part of an ongoing series of investigations into content area teachers’ beliefs and practices when using multiliteracies practices in their
teaching. This research is informed by contemporary theories of multiliteracies and creativity and the need to examine the instructional decisions teachers make in their content area classrooms.
