This paper examines the application of the findings of a student voice research conducted with adolescent long-term English learners. A new framework emerged from a student voice study illustrating the favorable learning context for LTEL students and this framework has been put into practice in the study district. The contribution of this paper towards meeting the goals of educational leadership for social justice is that it positions students as agents of change rather than being the objects of change. Analyzing how the findings of the student voice study have impacted practice and policy is being done through document analysis including key district policies regarding the placement of English learners and professional development for school leaders, teachers and counselors of ELs.
