A Qualitative Approach to Transnational Classroom Research

Abstract

This paper reports on findings from a study of classrooms in northern Mexico and discusses them relative to the qualitative approach used in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data. The purpose of the study was to learn about the prior educational experiences of Mexican immigrant students to the U.S. and to identify classroom practices that could be useful to teachers of Mexican immigrant students in the U.S.
