This longitudinal case study, situated in a marginalised community, explores the power of knowledge making, situated in the iterative journey of praxis (Freire:1992). It explores the evolution and impact of Kileely Community Project (KCP) on participants and ecologies. Using mixed methods approach it builds a profile of a community which found the courage to address the learning needs of adults and children. This study honours the personal transformation in the lives of participants and in the ecologies of home, school and community. It posits that success was achieved through attention to relationships, processes and outcomes, creates a non-status quo (Keating: 2009) story, and urges attention to ‘how we act, how we think and how we feel’ to inform our work.
