Wikipedia has changed the way we gather and learn information. At its most basic level, a Wiki, like Wikipedia, facilitates collaborative writing by allowing multiple users with many different facets of expertise to author the content contained on the Wiki page. While the uses of Wikis have been discussed in the literature, there have been little, if any, specific guidelines for facilitating collaborative writing. The purpose of this paper is to provide a model for integrating a Wiki as a writing support tool and demonstrate how the Wiki can be a means by which instructors can purposefully integrate technology into their coursework, promote collaborative writing, and encourage differentiated instruction.
