This study examines (1) effectiveness of cooperative learning in enhancing Korean college students’ English proficiency; (2) Korean college students’ perception on self-efficacy in learning English; (3) how the cooperative learning facilitates Korean EFL learners’ self-efficacy. Both quantitative and qualitative analyses were used for the present study. A part of results indicated that cooperative learning can be effective for improving Korean college students’ English proficiency. Furthermore, the Korean college students showed positive responses to learner-centered cooperative learning.
