Parent-child conversations in science museums may support children’s interest in science, and there are a number of individual factors that can influence such family interactions. This study examined associations between parents’ and children’s attitudes toward science, science self-efficacy, and learning behaviors at three interactive exhibits in a science museum. Results indicated that these individual differences significantly impact the type of conversation in this setting. This research builds upon traditional museum studies by looking carefully at how individual differences impact both the interaction and overall learning experience at a science museum.
