This study expands the authors’ continuing line of research toward accurately estimating college readiness benchmarks through elementary and middle grades mathematics and reading. Equipercentile matching links published EXPLORE, PLAN, and ACT score criteria with MAP assessments in order to connect K-12 student growth with college readiness. A large, multi-state sample allows for extension of previous analyses, including linking scores from EXPLORE with eighth grade MAP, backward mapping benchmark scores using expected growth norms to third grade, and verifying accuracy of prediction using ROC curve analysis. This study will provide the current findings of a work in progress, whose final goal is a nationally validated model for predicting college readiness.
