Abstract

Ohio has embarked on a pilot project to test the concept of using performance assessment as a learning and assessment tool in schools. The pilot project began in 2008 and is currently funded by Ohio’s Race to the Top grant. The Ohio Performance Assessment Pilot Project (OPAPP) will begin a new phase in the fall of 2011. The purpose of this phase of the pilot is to pilot the dyad system of performance tasks as well as to pilot a scalable assessment system in real schools. This paper will discuss the framework for the pilot and will include early results from the first semester of the pilot project.
