In Event: Roundtable Session 39
In Roundtable Session: Creativity in Teaching and Student Development
The purpose of this conceptual paper is to explore possible ramifications of issues in creativity research via the following agenda: (1) to explore the recurring problem of a definition of creativity; and (2) to address the contextualization of creativity for the adult and child. These brief topics will examine creativity research, with the addition of needed interdisciplinary research notably from developmental psychology, and co-implicate the concept of creativity with that of our understanding of child development. For example, what is the relationship between creativity and child development? This agenda and framework will serve to illustrate issues associated with current scholarship in the study of creativity, to conclude with future recommendations for prospective research.
