Abstract

The aim of this study is to present initial validation evidence for the Comprehension of Written Grammar (CWG) test, a measure that could be used to assess 30 language structures for deaf and hard of hearing (DHH) students. The current study examines the content validity of the CWG test using both quantitative and qualitative information. Procedures include: 1) development of a content validity questionnaire evaluating various aspects of the CWG test; 2) completion of the survey by ‘subject matter experts’ in the field; 3) computing quantitative indexes of content validity; 4) summarizing qualitative feedback on aspects of the CWG test; and 5) revising the CWG test on the basis of the quantitative and qualitative information collected.
