Effect of Changes of Learning Environment on Student Achievement and Academic Self-Concept

Abstract

Ninth grade students in Taiwan have to suffer the upcoming challenge of learning environment changes because these students are divided into hierarchical high schools as to the scores of national entrance examination. This paper aims to examine the transition of students’ learning environment and assess the effect of Big-Fish-Little-Pond-Effect (BFLPE) in Taiwan’s unique high school contexts.
