Mon, April 16, 4:05 to 5:35pm, Vancouver Convention Centre, Floor: First Level, East Ballroom B

Abstract

Much of the existing research related to the benefits of blended learning has been conducted primarily with students and faculty in higher education. However, blended learning has been also suggested as an effective strategy for supporting guiding the development and delivery of teacher professional development programs. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of using Picianno’s “Blending With Purpose” model to create and deliver professional development activities focused on inquiry-based science teaching strategies for rural, elementary teachers from schools in the Northern Rocky Mountain region.
