This study addresses how digital video recorders might be utilized as an instructional tool to support pre-service teachers’ instruction of content area vocabulary. The study also attempted to discern pre-service teachers’ attitudes of using technology in the classroom, as well as their self-efficacy in creating a technological tool for vocabulary instruction. The research study enabled pre-service teachers to create videos based on content area vocabulary words, which enabled the authors to collect both quantitative and qualitative data. This resulted in emergent themes that are beneficial for teacher preparation programs in university settings, as well as for teachers and administrators in PK-12 educational environments.
