The current study investigated the effectiveness of DimensionM for improving middle school student achievement in algebra. In doing so, the authors have carefully considered the limitations of previous empirical studies that focused on the effectiveness of instructional games in mathematics education. A control group quasi-experimental design was used with a sample of 437 middle school students. To reduce the measurement errors and provide more valid statistical results, we utilized structure equation modeling to assess the treatment effects. The findings suggest that the implementation of DimensionM in mathematics education can greatly benefit students learning algebra in regular school settings.
