Abstract

A paucity of tools exist to assess the fidelity of implementation of Response to Intervention (RtI). The purpose of this study is to describe the development of a six component RtI rubric that will help fill this gap and provide a measure of effective RtI practices. The initial phase of this study focuses on the development and expert validation of the school RtI implementation rubrics. The second phase will focus on the psychometric properties of the rubrics based on data obtained from approximately 200 schools located in both urban and rural settings located within a single state. Preliminary data indicates the rubrics will serve as a robust tool to ascertain fidelity of implementation in regards to the RtI initiative.
