MyStory as Professional Development Tool: Does It Provide Educators With Lasting Changes One Year Later?

Sun, April 15, 2:15 to 3:45pm, Sheraton Wall Centre, Floor: Fourth Level, South Galiano

Abstract

Last year, the authors explored the use of “MyStory,” a narrative inquiry methodology, as a professional development tool for educators. Findings from this initial study suggested that performative “MyStory” has the potential for cognitive, affective, and behavioral transformation in teachers. One year later, the authors are revisiting this tool to explore whether transformative impacts continue. Do storytellers and audience members report enduring transformations from the original “MyStory” event, and, if so, in what ways do they report being transformed?
