Abstract

While effective programming for gifted services relies heavily on development of curricula that will challenge and enhance learning outcomes for gifted students, there is limited research documenting the impact of curricular models for gifted learners and national studies of curricular interventions in multiple settings are scant. Among challenges to documenting such efforts in gifted programs, difficulty with establishing effective measures of outcomes is cited as one of the major challenges.
The development of assessments to adequately measure outcomes of high level curriculum for gifted students is often not accompanied by clear data on the validity and reliability of the instruments. This study provided documentation of a process and outcomes of psychometric evaluations of such assessment tools.
