The qualities that distinguish more effective schools from less effective schools are of constant interest to researchers and practitioners of education. Data on the teachers’ and the students’ engagement behaviors and attitudes reflect other dimensions essential to the learning environment. This paper focuses on engagement measures as a baseline to assess school effectiveness in order to understand how school resources and the indicators of school community associate with school effectiveness.
