Abstract

The proposed paper offers a critical inquiry into the intricate and complicated conceptual connections among Confucianism, capitalism, democracy, and global education movement. Specifically, I point out that the Confucian values are compatible with modern capitalist economy. Furthermore, I argue that compassion and justice as the fundamental Confucian values are key to promoting and implementing modern democracy shaping the global education for economic justice and peace in the age of capitalist globalization.
