This study is to enhance the understanding of cultural identity, national identity, and their interrelation as a conceptual framework for decision-making. A qualitative research method, hermeneutics, an interpretive process, is employed in order to anatomize the system and to reveal the meaning of text bounded in political structure. In this procedure, the study will contribute to the education efforts in dealing with complexities involving social, cultural, racial, political, and ethnic identities in a condition in which colonialism has been handed down, to maintain political and ideological hegemony in education, particularly curriculum. This approach is applicable for many nations with high numbers of immigrants, to rethink multiethnic education in which the issue arises of whose culture should be included and taught.
