Abstract

Troops to Teachers (TTT) is a Department of Defense program that assists current and former military members transition to careers as public school teachers. Several studies have proven the effectiveness of TTT participants as teachers. However, little analysis has been conducted regarding the legislation and policies governing the TTT program. This analysis aims to determine which forms of financial assistance provided through the TTT program are most effective in increasing the number of TTT participants hired. Through interviews with TTT staff members and a linear probability model with individual fixed effects, this study evaluates the effectiveness of TTT financial assistance.
