Improving College-Ready Transition Programs: A Case Study of Current Practices

Abstract

In this study we explored the current practices in place at a public high school with 70% immediate transition of graduates to higher education and 70% low socio-economic status students. This study included a critique of published evidence of scholarly research, and a mixed methods case study. The relationship among state policy, funding initiatives, and student outcomes were analyzed. This study indicates that implementing college-ready transition programs that are required for all students improved the immediate transition rate of graduates and promoted social change.
