Abstract

Using the Education Longitudinal Study of 2002, the influence of risk and resilience factors on intermediate postsecondary educational outcome of adolescents with high incidence disabilities was examined and compared to those without disabilities. Marginal logistic models of adolescents with high incidence disabilities revealed that individual and family risk and resilience factors were significant predictors of intermediate postsecondary educational outcomes, while the model comparing adolescents with high incidence disabilities and those without disabilities showed that only the community risk and resilience factor did not significantly predict postsecondary educational outcomes. While the Cochran-Mantel-Haenszel test indicated group differences between individuals with disabilities and peers without disabilities, the marginal logistic model showed no group differences in postsecondary educational outcomes.
