Abstract

New site principals' perceptions of their multifaceted roles are reviewed, categorized, and fractured into themes through a respondent driven ethnographic interview process. Researchers were intrigued with the fourteen themes that emerged as principals derived meaning of their roles via interaction with staff and others. Having the ability to create positive and enduring relationships through effective communication was the most noteworthy finding of this study.
