Abstract

Over half of the community college faculty are part-time, an they are often the majority of faculty on campus. However, many still feel isolated. This study looks at mentorship for part-time faculty as part of their socialization process. This qualitative study found 3 types of mentorship: orientation, teaching and instruction, and socialization, as well as various barriers to adjunct mentorship.
