Abstract

This paper builds on an existing trend that indicates enrollment of employed adults as non-traditional students has increased rapidly in postsecondary education (PSE). While we have descriptive knowledge of the characteristics of adult learners, we know less about the factors that affect the decision to attend postsecondary institutions. Thus the purpose of this paper is to identify the factors that predict enrollment of adult learners in PSE. Employing a conceptual model, we utilize logistic regression to suggest predictors for adult learners in PSE.
