Abstract

This paper examines the development of educational institutions in Great Britain, the United States, and India in comparative perspective. The study of the development of educational institutions has been largely neglected in academia. This project explores the significance of the development of educational institutions that has largely come about due to pressure from the populace made possible by liberal democracy. The hypothesis of this dissertation is that the populace is responsible through democratic processes in the development of various institutions.
