Vocational Education and Training Programs in the Nigerian Education System

Abstract
This article used existing literatures to discuss the Vocational Education and Training (VET) programs in Nigeria as it is obtained in educational institutions in Nigeria. VET programs in post primary and post secondary (University, Polytechnics, and Technical Colleges of Education) educations were highlighted. Concepts of VET programs in Nigeria were also discussed in relation to other VET programs in developed countries. Some practices in VET programs in some countries like China, United Kingdom, France, and Germany were identified. Suggestions for future directions based on the identified practices in developed countries were made.
