Abstract

This study examined the experiences of a group of women professors of educational leadership, as their career paths zigzagged among a range of business and public education positions over three decades. Themes common to the experiences of the participants indicate that women who follow a nonlinear career path may develop tacit and explicit knowledge related to the leadership standards they are expected to address in preparing future leaders.
