Hearts and Minds: A Meta-Synthesis of Plays Cocreated With African American Adolescents

Abstract

A meta-synthesis of 8 one act plays co-created with 193 African American adolescents brings insight into the role that family, violence, sexuality, school, popular culture, and racial awareness play in the perspectives and lived experience of the youth. The synthesis may also inform arts-based researchers' use of art forms as qualitative data.
