Significant research has been conducted to understand the causes of memory loss in seniors. Yet, very little study has been devoted to explore factors that may contribute to a good quality of life in seniors after they lose memory function. This study was designed to explore and describe these factors, their strength in explaining quality of life, and why they are considered important to seniors. About 120 seniors with mild to moderate degrees of memory and 75 staff caregivers will be interviewed, and their everyday lives observed. A cross-sectional research design with content analysis of data, and robust data verification and inter-rater reliability measures is employed. Findings may enhance understanding of educational practice with aging seniors.
