Abstract

In this paper I detail the specific ethical dilemmas associated with researching and writing a narrative work that shares the story of one transgender student and her experience in schooling and music education. By focusing on one particular case of critical storytelling, the reader has the opportunity to consider the connections of theory to practice and the specific means of conducting responsible narrative inquiry.
