Abstract

In this essay the presenters discusses how White, Eurocentric meta-narratives (white redemptive and white male affirmation) serve as backdrops to not only prescribe success and “save” communities of color, but also serve as examples of how “savage” communities can and should be “tamed” (Hughes, 2010; Thompson, 2003).
