This essay will discuss the social problems presented in the films and the roles of White women and the minority youth in the social change process. The presenter will then explore the causal relationship between the millennial generation’s belief that they can make change happen quickly and the movies portrayal of change being a simple process. The author will then discuss the impact of these ideas on the expectations of pre-service and novice teachers when they enter the classroom.
