Abstract

Although it is widely accepted that induction programs contribute to teacher retention and the development of the expertise of new teachers, no studies have documented links between components of beginning teacher induction programs and student achievement. This paper will present the results of a study of second year teachers, their participation in induction programs, and the academic progress of their students.
